More support from Councillors:
You make a very powerful argument, and I agree with you about the contribution of a school to the community. Councillor Penny Abraham, Bloombury.

As a councillor for King's Cross ward I'd like to add my support to the campaign for a new secondary school for South of the Euston Road.  Camden has excellent local schools - including Argyle primary school in King's Cross.  Emma and all the other parents have put a powerful case forward for a new school for King's Cross, Bloomsbury and Holborn.  I will do all I can to help them achieve this. Councillor Jonathan Simpson, Kings Cross

As a Bloomsbury Councillor I acknowledge this issue and believe that we need a secondary school for Holborn and Bloomsbury. Councillor Fazlul Chowdhury.

What appears to be the situation in your end of the borough is that no one anticipated that an area then crammed with office blocks would over the years become part of a demographic change, most recently encouraged by Livingstone, in which empty and redundant offices are given new uses as hotels and residential housing. It always makes sense to plan for mixed use, and it also makes sense in terms of the sustainability of our cities to reduce commuting from the suburbs. It seems that you and other parents there are part of this demographic change, but are also victims because the infrastructure has not kept up. You need a secondary school and I fully support your campaign get one. Former Councillor Gerry Harrison, Cantelowes.

Messages from Cllrs. Julian Fulbrook & Sue Vincent:
I fully support your campaign for a new secondary school south of the Euston Road, and at long last there is a serious prospect. There has of course been a campaign by local people about this issue for over 30 years. Up to now there has always been some technicality which has denied the right of the children in this area to stay together on secondary transfer. My one regret is that our own three children have all grown up, so they would not be able to benefit from a local school! You can certainly count on my solid support. Councillor Julian Fulbrook, Holborn and Covent Garden Ward.

I completely support your campaign to get a new secondary school south of the Euston Road and will continue to help to achieve this vital community amenity for all children in the South of Camden. When parents contacted me last year about the lack of school places I remembered too well the anguish of being refused a Camden school place for my child and the distress that followed. You have taken up the 30 year baton of previous campaigns well and you can count on my continued support to get a community school for future generations. Councillor Sue Vincent, Holborn and Covent Garden Ward.

We are delighted to be able to rely on the continuing active support of our M.P. Frank Dobson.
